Trap for catching larvae

Features

A trap designed for capturing larvae of the pine processionary caterpillar (Thaumetopoea pityocampa) is intended to be placed on the trunk of various pine tree species, including Pinus nigra, P. sylvestris, P. halepensis, P. pinea, P. pinaster, P. insignis, P. strobus, Larix decidua, and Cedrus spp. As the larvae descend from the top of the tree, they are intercepted and collected within a capture container for easy removal.

MODE OF USE

Place the trap on the trunk at chest height starting in February.

Leave the trap in place for at least 3 weeks after the last descents so that the chrysalises have formed and there is no more risk of infestation.

Inside the plastic collector, add some soil to simulate the ground.
