Features

Trap for the capture of the larvae of the pine processionary (Thaumetopoea pityocampa). It must be placed on the trunk of the Pinus nigra, P. Sylvestris, P. halepensis, P. pinea, P. pinaster, P. insignis, P. strobus, Larix decidua and Cedrus spp. At the beginning of May, the larvae start their descent in procession to reach the ground and close themselves inside the cocoon. During the descent from the top of the tree, larvae are stopped and collected inside a bag to be easily eliminated.

TARGET INSECTS

Pine processionary (Thaumetopoea pityocampa).

DOSE AND APPLICATION METHOD

In the second half of April, place the trap around the trunk at a height of about 120-140 cm. Leave the trap for at least 3 weeks after the last descent so that the chrysalises are already formed and there is no further danger of infestation. Inside the bag, put some soil to simulate the ground.
